Pakistan Monsoon Season — When to Prepare

Pakistan's monsoon season runs from June to September, with peak flooding typically in July–August. Areas most affected include Southern Punjab (DG Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan), Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana), Balochistan (Quetta, Nasirabad), and KPK. Preparation BEFORE the season is essential.

Emergency Bag — What to Pack

• 3-day supply of water (3 litres per person per day)
• Non-perishable food (biscuits, dried fruit, canned goods)
• First aid kit with prescription medicines (minimum 2-week supply)
• Torches and extra batteries (or hand-crank torch)
• Whistle — to signal rescuers if trapped
• Waterproof bag or container for all important documents
• Cash — ATMs and digital payments fail in floods
• Warm blanket (even in summer — rescue shelters are cold)

• CNIC (original + photocopy in waterproof bag)
• Property documents
• Insurance policies
• Vehicle registration papers
• Bank account details on paper
• Medical records for family members
