How to Set Up Your Nishaaan QR Tag in 2 Minutes

What You'll Need

• Your Nishaaan QR tag (received via delivery)
• A smartphone with a camera (iPhone or Android)
• 2 minutes of your time
• Your phone number (for notification setup)

Step 1 — Scan Your New Tag

Open your phone's camera app (or QR scanner). Point it at the QR code on your new Nishaaan tag. A link will appear — tap it. This will take you to the Nishaaan activation page.

Step 2 — Create Your Account

If you don't already have a Nishaaan account, you'll be prompted to create one. Enter your email address and create a password. You can also sign in with Google if you prefer — it's faster.

If you already have a Nishaaan account, simply log in and the tag will automatically be added to your account.

Step 3 — Set Up Your Tag Profile

Now configure your tag. You'll be asked:

• What is this tag for? (Luggage, Pet, Vehicle, Keys, or Other)
• Add a description (e.g., 'Black Samsonite suitcase with blue ribbon', 'Golden Retriever named Bruno')
• Do you want SMS notifications? Yes/No
• Add an optional reward message for the finder

Take your time with the description — the more detail you add, the easier it is for a finder to confirm they have your item.

Step 4 — Attach Your Tag

For Luggage

Attach the tag to your suitcase handle using the included loop or cable tie. Make sure the QR code faces outward and is easily visible. For soft bags, you can also attach it to a zipper pull.

For Pets

Thread the tag through your pet's collar or use the included split ring (like a key ring). The tag should hang below the collar alongside any other tags. Make sure it's snug but not too tight — you should be able to fit two fingers under the collar.

For Vehicles

Place the tag somewhere visible inside the car — on the dashboard, rearview mirror, or the inside of the windshield. For motorcycles, you can attach it to the registration holder or under the seat.

For Keys

Use the split ring to attach the tag directly to your key ring. It's lightweight and won't add noticeable bulk.

Step 5 — Test It

Scan your own tag to make sure everything is set up correctly. You should see the tag's public page. Then submit a test scan with a dummy name to verify you receive the notification. You can delete test scans from your dashboard.
