Eid Shopping Season — Why It's Riskier

Pakistan's major bazaars — Liberty Market in Lahore, Tariq Road and Saddar in Karachi, and Raja Bazaar in Rawalpindi — become extremely crowded during Eid shopping season. Pickpocketing and snatching incidents increase significantly. Being aware and prepared makes all the difference.

Before You Go Out

• Carry only the cash you need — use JazzCash or EasyPaisa for larger payments
• Leave expensive watches and jewelry at home
• Take a photo of your car's parking location
• Tell someone where you're going and when you'll return
• Charge your phone fully before leaving

In The Bazaar

• Keep your bag zipped and in front of you — not behind
• Avoid using your phone while walking — step to the side
• Be aware of people crowding around you unnecessarily
• Keep your wallet in a front pocket, not a back pocket
• Don't count cash in public

Car Parking Safety

• Don't leave bags or shopping in visible car seats
• Lock your car and keep valuables in the boot
