Left Something in a Careem, InDriver, or Bykea? How to Get It Back
People leave phones, wallets, bags, and laptops in ride-hailing cars daily. Complete process for Careem, InDriver, Bykea, and general tips to recover your lost item.
How to Recover Items from Careem
- 1Open Careem app → tap your profile → 'Help' → 'I left something in the car'
- 2The app will attempt to connect you with the driver via masked call
- 3If the driver doesn't answer, raise a formal support ticket through the app
- 4Careem support: 021-111-227-336 (Karachi), 042-111-227-336 (Lahore)
- 5Careem has a policy to assist with lost items — drivers are incentivized to return them
- 6Realistic timeline: if the driver still has your item, resolution within 2–4 hours. After 24 hours, success rate drops significantly
InDriver — No Corporate Lost & Found
InDriver operates on a peer-to-peer model with less corporate oversight. There is no formal lost item process. Your options:
- Call the driver directly — the number is in your trip history in the app
- Rate the trip with a 1-star and note in the comment that you left an item — sometimes drivers respond to protect their rating
- Report in-app — InDriver does have a support system but response is slower than Careem
- If the driver is unresponsive and the item is high-value, contact InDriver Pakistan at their Islamabad office: 051-2890087
Bykea — Motorcycle Rides
Items left on Bykea motorcycles are harder to recover since there's no enclosed car space — items usually fall rather than being left behind. If you believe you left something:
- Check your Bykea app trip history and use the in-app support to contact the rider
- Bykea support: 021-111-293-293
- Bykea riders are generally cooperative — their income depends on app ratings
General Tips Before You Exit Any Ride
- The 5-second check: before opening the car door, scan the seat beside you and the floor
- If you have a bag with multiple pockets, tap every pocket to feel that your key items are there
- If you're arriving at your destination in a rush, slow down for 5 seconds — most items are left when people are in a hurry
The Best Prevention
A Nishaaan QR tag on your phone case or bag means the driver (or their next passenger) can scan it and you get notified immediately. No app download needed for the finder — they just scan the QR code.
